Presentations, panel discussions and lively discussions took place in from 15 – 16 January 2018 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as part of the first-of-its-kind Inclusive Education Symposium which was organised by the British Council to assist policymakers and senior practitioners in Ethiopia move towards better Inclusive Education models and practices.
‘A Master Plan for Special Needs Education / Inclusive Education in Ethiopia 2015 – 2025’ was discussed during this symposium. Moreover, this event was a great opportunity to bring face-to-face different actors in the Inclusive Education arena including representatives of organisations such as Light for the World, FCDO, Ethiopian Ministry of Education, London Leadership strategy, Addis Ababa University, Save the Children, ChildFund International and many other Executives of Local Civil Society Organisations.
Most notable was the presence of Yetnebersh Nigussie who is Right Livelihood 2017 laureate and Senior Inclusion Advisor for Light for the World's Senior Inclusion Advisor and David Bartram, Special Needs Director at London Leadership Strategy.
