The Creative DNA Ethiopia (CDNA) programme is part of the British Council's SSA Arts Creative Economy Programme, designed to harness global insights from the creative and cultural sectors. By inspiring leaders, policymakers, funders, and professionals, the programme fosters innovation, creativity, and inclusive economic growth. Through strategic partnerships with UK stakeholders, CDNA supports creatives and communities in developing stronger creative economies. The Programme is committed to promoting innovation, creativity, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
In the past few years till present the British Council Ethiopia partnered with various partners including Creative Hub Ethiopia, iceAddis, Fashion Scout (UK), Hubs of Africa Fashion Week. The programme, which started in 2023 and runs till 2027, has implemented a business incubation programme for Ethiopian fashion entrepreneurs providing tailored business mentorship, financial literacy, branding, and market access training for emerging designers.
As part of the incubation programme, the participants receive micro grants to assist their fashion enterprises in developing their full potential and build sustainable and dynamic businesses. This also helps them understand managing finances with the assistance of the established businesses within the Fashion sector.
