Techstitched is an innovative programme developed by Guzo Technologies in collaboration with the British Council and Hub of Africa Fashion Week. The programme aims to explore the intersection of fashion and technology by leveraging AI, VR, and digital solutions to enhance the fashion industry in Africa. Techstitched provides designers with cutting-edge digital tools to create, showcase, and market their collections in a more sustainable and globally accessible manner. The initiative has been instrumental in introducing African designers to virtual fashion platforms, digital garment design, and immersive fashion presentations, positioning Africa’s fashion industry on the global digital stage.

Having started in 2024 the programme has piloted The TechStitched Fashion Residency Programme aimed at fostering innovation and partnership within the African Fashion landscape. A collaboration between the British Council, Hub of Africa Fashion Week and Guzo Technologies, the programme merged the rich heritage of Ethiopian craftsmanship with modern innovation through the realms of fashion and technology, fostering cross-cultural collaborations among designers from various African fashion weeks. The residency programme served as a vibrant platform for creative exchange, skill development, and cross-cultural engagement among designers and Fashion Weeks from across the African continent.
