Refunds
We are able to refund your examination fee for medical reasons only.
If this is the case, you must provide a medical certificate from a public hospital (we also accept certificates from IKA, TEBE, OAEE, EOPYY, etc), your timetable and a completed Request for Refund Form to support your request.
The request and supporting documents must be submitted to the British Council within two weeks of the date of the written exams and you will receive a refund of 75% of the fee.
All approved requests for refunds are processed after the examination results.
Fees cannot be transferred to a later exam period or from one level of examination to another.
Refunds are only given if you miss the entire exam (all papers).
Other changes
- Candidates can request to change the date or time of the speaking test. Contact the British Council to apply for a change of orals. There is a fee of GBP 65 or equivalent in ETB in addition to the fee to the examination board. Such changes will only be possible until the end of the current examination window, on condition that the speaking test is conducted more than once within the same examination session.
- The date and the venue (examination centre) of the written and listening parts of the examination cannot be changed.
