The Ethiopian Social Enterprise Forum (ESEF) held its second event on December 2, 2016 at the premises of the British Council Ethiopia. Initiated and led by Reach for Change Ethiopia with a focus on "How to Sell Yourself and Your Ideas”, the event was framed to accompany the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrated during mid-December and thereby raise awareness about the global social enterprise movement in Ethiopia. It was attended by 50 aspiring social entrepreneurs and representatives of civil society and government organizations. It was an interactive, energetic event including two wonderful guest speakers: Kibret Abebe, Founder of Tebita Ambulance, and Wondwossen Gebre-Egziabher, expert public speaker and Founder of Toastmasters in Ethiopia. Kibret is a noteworthy award winning Ethiopian social entrepreneur who is recognized for his work in saving lives and winning minds.
The participants acknowledge that this second event since the forum was established in September 2016 was an important platform in imparting skills and tools necessary to effectively sell themselves and their ideas. The turnout and the high level of enthusiasm of participants demonstrated that the young forum was growing so quickly and accomplishing its role in creating an environment in which social entrepreneurs can thrive in Ethiopia.
